Wellow Valley Tennis Club, held their first ever competitive tennis match against another club, when they hosted Bromsgrove Tennis Club on Saturday 30th September 2017. In a highly entertaining match, there were a number of stand out performances, particularly from Wellow's number 1 pair Justin Cockerill and Gordon Westwood who opened proceedings with a resounding 6-0 6-0 victory over their opposite numbers. Match organiser Ian Pidgen who is a member of both clubs said, " This was a fantastic occassion for all concerned and we would like to thank everyone at Wellow for making our guests feel so welcome." Bromsgrove eventually ran out winners 9 sets to 7.
